YYJ Victoria International Airport is situated approximately 25 km north of British Columbia’s capital city, Victoria.
The terminal is favorite among seasoned travelers as it balances being smaller (so ultra convenient) yet modern given the relatively recent improvements and upgrades.
Please note that passengers travelling from YYJ Victoria International Airport must pass through security (CATSA). See the “Baggage” section below for full information.

Harbour Air flights operated out of YYJ Victoria International Airport are subject to CATSA screening. Passengers are encouraged to review the CATSA and Transport Canada Guidelines.
For reference, the following items cannot be taken in carry-on baggage:
- Guns, firearms or another device that could seriously injure someone by launching harmful objects. This includes items that could be mistaken for this type of device.
- Devices that can stun or immobilise someone, like tasers, animal stunners, chemicals and sprays like mace, pepper spray, etc.
- Objects that could cause serious injury, like utility knives, razor blades, knives with blades longer than 6cm.
- Tools that could cause serious injury or threaten the safety of aircraft, like hammers, tools with shafts longer than 6cm.
- Blunt objects that could cause serious injury, like baseball bats, golf clubs, hockey sticks.
- Explosive or incendiary substances or devices that could be used to cause serious injury or threaten the safety on the aircraft, including ammunition, flares, fireworks, etc.
- Liquids, aerosols and gels (other than formula, milk, breast milk, juice or food for infants) that’s in a container larger than 100 ml or 100 g and cannot fit in in a 1L sealed clear plastic bag.
